Hello everyone,
how to force hap ax3 to give full speed which must be up to 2 gb, when I connect the cable directly to pc from modem, it gives me a speed of 1800mb, but when I connect it to the router, I only get 800mb
what am i doing wrong?
One thing that does affect throughout is the fact that hAP ax3 has only got one 2.5Gbps port … so if you connect it between PC and cable, one of legs will be limited to 1Gbps.
Next: if you’re trying to use wireless, make sure hAP ax3 is connected to cable using the 2.5Gbps port. Then: default wireless config might be non-optimal in your environment. If the 800Mbps you’re mentioning are over wireless, then that’s about what hAP ax3 can realistically do - specs say 1200Mbps, but that’s gross number, in reality two thirds of user throughput is decent achievement.
And last, but not least: official test results (although max numbers are much higher) indicate that device can route in real life at around 1200Mbps (give or take). And mind that wireless transfers hog CPU as well as routing/firewalling, so both at the same time may peg CPU at 100% which thus becomes a bottleneck.
Using internal bandwidth test between RB5009 and AX3, I can get 2.2Gb over wire. It has been a while but I recall AX3 was at max then cpu-wise.
Obviously with both devices on the 1 port which is capable of providing 2.5Gbps.
(I know, I know, shouldn’t be done using device under test but I had to since I don’t have other test equipment)
So your result of 1800Mbps sounds a bit “low” IMHO.
On AX3-wifi using a USB3-TP Link AX30 adapter, I can get close to 900Mbps. As indicated by mkx, don’t expect much more.
PS title of post changed since we’re talking about AX3, not AC3.
there two pic one of them with mikrotik router
and another one is lan cable connected directly to pc lan port with 2.5 gb

Again: how exactly does the network topology look like when hAP ax3 is in the picture?
BTW, when doing speedtests, try to select same server every time. My experience is that some servers some times give lower results than others. If your ISP runs their own speedtest server, use that one, many ISPs go to great extents to make sure their servers give top-notch results to their customers.
If isp modem is connected to port 1, which is the ONLY 2.5gb port ax3 has, and pc is connected to any of port 2 to 5, which are MAX 1gb ports, how do you expect to get more then 1gb on PC ??
Impossible.
