Hi.
I’ve been using Mikrotik hAP lite for quite a while now, maybe year.
I’ve used it with with various devices, some G-band, some N-Band, some 150mbs rated, some 300mbs rated. In the past, experienced some problems with auto-channel selecting, however after manually selecting channel all back’s to normal and wireless performance was quite good.
Few days ago Huawei P9 lite (i have no idea what WIFI chipset is inside this mobile) arrived at home. Then Wifi problems started.
When Huawei gets connected to router, other devices gets either:
1/ Disconnection
2/ Can’'t connect to router (authentication not valid (2), unicast key exchng. timeout)
3/ Poor (very poor) performance
4/ Very long pings
5/ No pings to router at all
Also, for example Samsung I9500. All works OK, wireless performance is OK (45mbps at 72.2mbps synchro). When Huawei gets connected, it immediatly gets disconnected from router, and can’t connect again. I guess there is some compatibilty problems between wireless chipsets.
Anyway, besides of problems described, I checked the synchro speed of Huawei device, it’s 150mbit, so it’s using Ch0 and 40mhz band. BUT the download speed i am always getting is 15MBits +/- 2mbit. At the same time (when huawei is disconnected!), i can reach 80-90mbps wlan speed for example from Ch0+Ch1 Intel card. Environment is completly clean, what can be seen at spectral scan.
Please fix this problem. I sold many hAp lites to my customers (around 200 now I think, can send SN’s if MT team need) and keep selling them, though wireless problems (poor performance, timeouts) which i am observing is going to be more and more common.
I tried to disable WPA, i’ve set cts to self - this not helped anyway.
I played with band width and ch0/ch1 and:
20mhz OK
chain0 enabled, chain1 disabled OK but poor huawei/p9 speed, good signal (-68)
chain0 disabled, chain1 enabled OK but bad huawei/p9 signal (-83)
chain0 enabled, chain1 enabled Compatibility problems, router is wirelessly unusable, but p9 signal ch0 -56 ch1 -53
