Hi Everyone,
Thanks in advance for your time,
I’m new to Mikrotik, and i want to implement a simple setup to improve the coverage of my current apartment. Right now, i have the possibility of installing an AP in every major area of my home that will eventually cover all the house. I currently have a hAP ac Lite for one of the big areas (20 x 20 sq ft), but in the small rooms i;m thinking in using a small AP like the mAP lite, which for an area of 11 x 11 sq ft per room it should be fine (I think).
Can you guys comment on this setup? is it good enough for what i want, it would be nice to run capsman. but i need to check the compatibility of the devices i plan to use.
Thanks in advance.
Are your walls concrete or some other highly radio-blocking material? If not, then just the HAP AC Lite would be sufficient I think. I have a HAP Lite (for the kiddos) that I have in a large house and get decent signal throughout the house.
That’s exactly the problem, its concrete, 8" thick, and there’s a narrow hall just before the main area. i just want to guarantee that there;s full signal everywhere in the house. the hAP Ac Lite can power all the mAP Lite that i want to use via PoE.
Thanks,
Wilson
I see. In that case your proposal seems reasonable to me (I’m hardly a MikroTik expert however!)
One thing to note is that HAP AC Lite only has POE out on port 5. You’d need to get a Hex POE Lite to get multi-port POE out.
True, i’ll have to power them via USB,but i already figured out a convenient way, what about CapsMan? can it be implementent using these APs? (hAP ac lite, + 3 mAP Lite).
Thanks,
Wilson,
