Mikrotik hotspot detected as Skype Access enabled.

Just noticed today that one of the new hotspots I was setting up prompts skype to offer the “Skype Access” wireless hotspot login :-/

We don’t have any arrangements with Skype and I’ve never seen the notification before, so I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this and knew what it is in the hotspot code/login page that prompts Skype.

This might be interesting, it should work with some skype api..
i’ll try to catch some more info about it

AFAIK it simply works off the SSID.

Looks like that there must be a patnership between skype and the hotspot provider

groan

I sell network services to Virtual ISPs.

The VISPs have their own SSIDs on my net.

The VISPs could do deals with skype, using my Net.

I’m certainly gonna get The Call one day to ask how they can do it.

How the farquahar do i charge, and code, that one ?

There’s always 1 bad apple isn’t there ?

The one I had setup was simply called “test-hotspot” :-/ I’ll have to try some further playing around with it when I’m back at work on Monday.

was simply called “test-hotspot”

Cool.

4000 ‘test-hotspot’ ssids coming up.

Maybe Skype will get some support calls about something that has nothing to do with them.
Nice to see Instant Karma in action.

This link doesnt work any more :frowning:
Any ideas how to make our hotspot skype enabled?

Thank you
