Mikrotik hotspot is not accepting anymore users after 10-12 users has connected.

Hi! I’m currently using RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN and is using the default hotspot of Mikrotik using userman. Everything is working fine but when the connected users reached 10-12 users, it is not accepting anymore connection for other users. Sometimes, it will allow other users to be connected, but it will result to other connected users to be disconnected. Did I possibly miss a set-up? Or do we need to purchase AP to increase the number of users to connect in our hotspot? Thanks!

Anyway, here is the link of the tutorial I followed in setting up our hotspot.

Please help, I’m totally newbie in using Mikrotik router.

What log message do you get when they try authenticate?

Level 3 license is limited to 10 ‘active’ userman sessions. Level 4 is still only 20.

RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN comes standard with L5 license

Thank you for the response. Sometimes it will say, “Internet may not be available” or sometimes there is no error message at all because they can’t really connect to the wifi. It only says connecting, then nothing will happen.

Yup. I got L5.

Enable debug logging on hotspot, then look at logs when more users try to connect, will give more info to troubleshoot

Ohh ok. I’ll give it a try and post the error here. Many thanks!

I dont think thats going to help.

There errors you posted were not on the Mikrotik log, it was on the users side. That means that more than likely you have a problem with the your physical (wireless or cabled network). If wifi, they might be too far, behind too many obstacles or have interference.

You need to actually troubleshoot this, get in front of those devices, check if they have IP’s if not, find out why (it wont be Mikrotik unless your DHCP pool is too small), keep going until you find the problem.
