MikroTik joins the Fediverse

k6ccc, I feel the same way. I don’t like having multiple platforms with divided discussions. Eventually one of those platforms becomes abandoned.

For example, the game PUBG. I used the forums for patches and bug reporting. They got rid of the forums, and now have no official location to discuss bugs. Bug reports get ignored by their support staff. Using Reddit, Twitter, Discord, etc is unreliable. The topic is popular for a day or so, then it gets buried by new topics. There’s no way to bump an existing thread with updated information, at least not cleanly like you could on the forums. The same topics get repeated over and over because no one can search for the old discussion and reply to it.

No need to reinvent a wheel … method known for years but now you can easily create leaking places

That went fast: https://blog.mikrotik.com/security/cve-2023-32154.html

That was conveyd about a week before you posting above.

now I feel bad for asking

The release bot at https://mikrotik.social/@version doesn’t seem to have worked for 7.9.1 and related.

You are right, we made the channel, but it was too close to release. Bot not yet ready

Any signs of joining Lemmy ?
