Mikrotik KNOT (RB924i-2nD-BT5&BG77). I tried on RouterOS 6.48.3, 6.49beta54, 7.1beta6.
The LTE interface doesn’t work, it’s not listed as an interface. There is a ppp-out1 interface (Type: PPP Client).

I tried it with Megafon SIM card, “Smart Stuff” tariff, and with Beeline SIM card. The SIM cards are functional, they work in the phones.
I also tried switching “direct IP mode”, KNOT did not switch to LTE mode. I also switched MPCIe: /system routerboard usb set type=mini-PCIe, did not help too.
What is the procedure to use LTE on KNOT?

As you can see the LTE-M connection (That is NOT the same as the traditional LTE), is managed by PPP interface. On summary, KNOT doesn’t have any LTE interface.

Thank you for your reply!
Here is a screenshot of the Info from the ppp-out1 interface. There are 3 errors after the serial number.

Here is a fragment of the logs after enabling the ppp-out1 interface.

How to fix these errors?
LTE plans and LTE-M plans are diferent. Make sure that your ISP support LTE-M technology. Probably you are trying to use regular LTE technology on a device that only support LTE-M technology. These technologies are different.
Regards.
Also check the APN settings for your provider.
Thanks for the reply!
I checked the APN settings by comparing them with the ISP website.
The interface is still not working.
The mobile network operator (Megafon) declares support for the NB-IOT standard in the activated data plan.
The SIM card with this tariff does not work in KNOT. The description of the problem is given above.
What can be done?
LTE-M is completely different to NB-IoT. I don’t know what the commands Mikrotik issue to the BG77 modem but AT+QCFG=“iotopmode” specifies if the module should support eMTC / LTE Cat-M1 (mode=0), NB-IoT (mode=1), or both technologies (mode=2).
I’m back to solving the LTE problem on KNOT.
Do I need an external antenna for LTE in the city or is the built-in antenna enough?
There was no external antenna in the package
KNOT supports NB-IOT and Cat-M - mode = 2.

It gets an IP address. But when I run a ping through this interface the interface disconnects and reconnects.
How do I replace the device with a working device in Russia, St. Petersburg?
I suggest contact directly with MikroTik support and open a ticket.
Regards.
