MikroTik maybe add a dedicated IoT forum section?

Hi!
Now that mikrotik has invested in both products and RouterOS features for IoT I would like to propose to MikroTik to also have a dedicated forum section for IoT talk/help (MQTT, LoRa).

I think this would help a bit to draw people who are interested or good at this to the forum since those people are not necessary and same people as those who are good att networking in general and I don’t think those IoT experts who are out there is looking through all the posts in “General” which is 99% not about IoT. It is simply too “different worlds” of interests in my opinion.
Anyone else agree?

Request forwarded to admin.

There is not that many MQTT/LoRa/BLE/Modbus/etc postings – at least that I see. In fact, I’m surprised there haven’t been any about the new MQTT subscriber support…that adds a lot more options for IoT integrations using Mikrotik.

Perhaps some new “LTE and IoT” might be more encompassing since LTE support is kinda in the same “family” (well, the KNOT support LTE…). But LTE is not really same as the class as the “wireless” topic.

It was one of my thought too to make the topic more “living”.
Maybe some people don’t post about it at all because it feels like it is the “wrong” forum :frowning:

I also do understand that it’s not good to have too many topics to chose from either in a traditional forum, it is a pita to go through them all one by one if you are interested in several. A solution for that could be a tag based forum instead of fixed topics. Then you subscribe to the tags you want to read posts about and see them all in one list. I was not a fan of that from the begining, it took a while to get used to but now it feels like it is a more effeciant way to participate on a forum since tags could be much more fine grained than traditional forum topics so you can save a lot of time not having to scroll through all those posts that are not in your main interests. But everything is not great with them either, biggest problem seems to be that people tend to add the wrong tags to their posts and another users have to spend time having to tell them to correct the tags if they want replies from the right people :frowning:
