Hello everyone and sorry for my bad English.
I build communication bridge between distant objects, but they have direct line of sight, both objects works on 2.4 and 5GHz ISM Wi-Fi bands.
I need cheap but robust Wi-Fi for one of the objects (another has it already).
My choise is MikroTik Metal 52 ac.
But I have some questions to be shure it is definitely what I need.
- Does Metal 52 ac have SWR protection?
- Can Metal 52 ac working out of frequency bands (i.e. can it works on 2.25-2.35 GHz and 5.83-5.9 GHz) with output power more than 20dBm at 1Mbps (may be with some s/w or f/w mods)?
- Can Metal 52 ac with ROS (L4) handle big ACK timeouts (tens thousands) or I need any s/w or f/w mods?
May be you can provide better hardware for first object from MikroTik for my bridge:
Link distance: 600km, direct line of sight (low orbit amateur satellite).
Second object: 2.4GHz (actually 2.25-2.35), 40dBm (at 1Mbps), 24dBi ant. 5GHz (actually 5.83-5.9), 36dBm (at 1Mbps), 27dBi ant.
First object antennas: 2.4GHz - 20 meters (dia.) dish with 50dBi gain, 5GHz - 12 meters dish with 44dBi gain.
Requirements: output power at 2.4Ghz more than 20dBm, 5Ghz more than 20dBm, rugged case (ipx4 or better), PoE, MIPS CPU.
