MikroTik MetroEthernet 2.0 Certification

Was curious if MikroTik has any plans to get the CCR series (or any other units for that matter) certified for Metro Ethernet delivery?

With the growing prevalence of MEF standards, performance metrics and definitions, this will become an increasingly pressing issue for us and potentially the MikroTik community and we would like to ensure we’re able to continue rolling out RouterOS platforms throughout our residential and corporate networks.

Ugh, Metro Ethernet is such a freaking malaise in the networking world.

That and MEF is too…

Sorry, don’t mean to rant.

I just hate MEF and what Metro Ethernet stands for.

What specifically don’t you like about the MEF?

Don’t think they could. They lack the oam support. Good reason to add it though.

As much Carrier work as we do, I would love to see OAM added. Been waiting for it for quite a while

Im surprised they have not already done this.

I too would like to see this happen.

bump a dump

Yes MEF features like virtual Ethernet mpls and oam would be great.

It would be very nice to not have a customer mac tables in a bridge things like ERP for CRS would be nice as well.

Hi Guys,

If this is something you would value from Mikrotik, email sales@mikrotik.com and let them know.

They wont aim for it if customers do not formally request it.
