Trying to setup a Mikrotik RB951 for a new fibre ISP using VLAN ID
The ISP has given us 2 x static IP’s and VLAN ID’s -
One for Data and one for SIP.
For Data we are connecting the WAN interface (port1) into the port they have assigned to us on the Cisco Fibre swicth in our Comms room.
I have created a VLAN interface on port 1 using the ID they specified (3001) and assigned the public IP address Statically as defined by the ISP - set gateway and added route
I cannot access / ping anything using the VLAN interface as the outgoing interface.
I know it’s a broad question but is this the correct way? I have only ever configured Mikrotik routers for either PPOE or Static IP addresses - never using a VLAN ID
