Without MikroTik certified trainer you can’t attend online exam.
These are their politics! But how you want to learn! Cisco also is the same all materials are on netacad! If you want to do the same with mikrotik you can get courses timeline https://mikrotik.com/training/about and search for topics on internet and learn, then you can ask trainers for discount to register you for test only!
Personally I don’t see much value in any of IT certifications regardless the vendor … most of them are very basic level and completing such course doesn’t make trainee an expert. And there are many IT professionals without certificates that have much higher knowledge level. But then, if there’s a new kid on the block who wants to get some basic knowledge but doesn’t have any knowledgeable (informal) tutor at hand, then such trainings are beneficial … but as you wrote, direct monetary value is probably well below associated cost.
But then there are employers who trip on certificates and if one wants to work for such an employer, getting some certificates is a must.
Maybe is time to check how looks materials and certifications which give you real knowledge ? As we know, MTCNA is very short / compressed training + cert without network fundamentals.
If someone want know good fundamentals networking then should be interested CompTIA Network+ good training materials or CCNA / JNCIA-Junos (they have very good basic but additionally are focused on their hardware) . The min. real time to learn one of this material is 3 / 6 month and you still don’t have practical skills (only lab) .
