Mikrotik OpenVPN Client to PFSense OpenVPN Server (Site-to-Site VPN)

Hi Guys,

I am attempting to setup a Site-to-Site VPN between a Mikrotik Router and a PFSense Firewall. I have configured the VPN on both sides and it is saying that it is connected, but no traffic will flow between the two networks.

Mikrotik Network 172.26.0.0/22
Remote Network 10.201.0.0/24
Gateway Network 172.30.0.0/29

VPN Connection showing as Up on the PFSense Firwall

Mikrotik Router showing as Connected.

I have tried automatically generating the routes for the networks and tried entering them manually.

One thing I’m not sure on how do I put a rule in the Mikrotik firewall to allow communication over the Open-VPN Connection.

Also when the connection says it is connected I am not able to ping the respective gateway IP Addresses;

172.30.0.2 Mikrotik
172.30.0.1 PFSense

Something is not working here but I’m not sure what as everything is saying connected.

Which one did you configured to become the server? Mikrotik or Pfsense?

Sorry wasn’t clear PFSense is the host (server).

I have been looking at the logs and everything looks fine.

I just finished setting up an IPSEC connection from mikrotik to pfsense and it worked flawlessly. You may consider doing the same.
