This is now my third attempt at ordering international version of your equipment and the vendors send the US version (despite their product description saying international version).
It is very frustrating shipping items out of the US then having to ship back because of this!
I don’t think that you will ever found any international version in the US. So why are you trying?
Anyway it’s not Mikrotik fault and your statement it’s ridiculous.
I’m not shopping in the US (at least not on purpose). I’m ordering through Amazon.com with distributors that have the product listed as “International Version”.
Do not buy the products on amazon at all. One thing I have seen is that they do not have any warranty (officially 30 days). Only buy directly from official distributors. Amazon even has plenty of fake products for some reason. Very hard to battle against that.
Only buying directly from these companies will give you 1-2Years of warranty, service and support: https://mikrotik.com/buy
Amazon is not “Our vendor”
P.S.: to add to all the confusion, Amazon also has something called the “marketplace” where anyone can list anything, and those things mix into the regular search results. So you will sometimes accidentally buy something used or refurbished.
Yes. About that: I bought an “International version” from one vendor listed there, on Mikrotik site. Got the “US Version”. Complained - only to hear “is the same thing” as an answer. And it was a wireless one (952Ui-5ac2nD).
Never to buy from them again - but the problem exists.
To add up. A lot of marketplace sellers are cheaters which do not include VAT into their offerings. Here every offering (not explicit directed to companies) have to contain VAT and every seller has to provide a bill with VAT. Amazon at least do not enough to lock these cheaters out.
Paternot, it would be great if you could send the name of this seller to sales or support @mikrotik.com, so we can find out why they responded like that.
They said (when I told them about the frequency locking and the US version) “This doesn’t matter: we sell to lots of professionals, and not one of them complained”. I shudder to think about the kind of professionals they were talking about.
Anyway. How should I send the email? Just put a link to this post? Anything else, besides the vendor name, to help you?
So in my first instance, I purchased directly from a distributor listed on the Mikrotik site. In the second instance, I purchase from Amazon.com, but that vendor was also from your list.
I’m giving both distributors (official Mikrotik distributors) a second chance before I report to you guys their names… It it is very frustrating; both list it as international versions.
In my case, I have to ship back and possibly pay more in the processes of shipping back out of country.
