I did never got gigabit ethernet working with mikrotik PoE injectors.
I tried with Cat6 cables, Cat5e shilded, double shiled and none shilded, no matter only 100Mbit/s was achieved and cable length of max 20 meters.
I used sextant connected to ASUS gigabit broadband router and NetGear gigabit broadband router.
In this case, ports is flapping as mad, never stabilizing at any speed, it does not help to lock the port to 100Mbit/s fdx.
But connecting Sextant to RB751U-2HnD result in a rock solid stable 100Mbit/s full duplex link, maybe for it does not annonce gigabit ?
Also RB600 connected to Cisco/HP switches via the mikrotik PoE injectors.
Here speed become stabile on 100 Mbit/s full duplex, no flapping.
This problem has been there since 2009 when we started using it.
The mikrotik PoE injectors are labelled Gigabit, and one is coming in with sextant in the box.
To get gigabit working, I guess all TP pairs is needed, but mt poe solution is using one cable pair right ?
Is it possible at all to get gigabit + mikrotik poe working at gigabit speed.

Not only the label, but what /system routerboard say.
Must used this PoE:
I use one Sextant G, internal RouterBoard model: 911G-5HPnD
And the PoE is link directly on male to RB100AHx2 and the oter side to Sextant G with cat 5e ftp long 30m and link flawless at 1000Mbit (RouterOS 6.14, BIOS 3.14)
711-5HnD gives 100Mbit/s rock solid, never seen gigabit, customer device is 1000Mbit/s gives massive port flapping, using 100Mbit/s mikrotik customer device gives rock solid 100Mbit/s 18 meter.
711G-5HnD gives 100Mbit/s rock solid, never seen gigabit, customer device is 100Mbit/s 14 meter
SXT G-5HnD gives 100Mbit/s rock solid, never seen gigabit, customer device is 1000Mbit/s 10 meter
SXT-5D gives 100Mbit/s rock solid, never seen gigabit, customer device is 100Mbit/s 6 meter
All cables are Cat6 foil shilded black outdoor cables, never exeeding 30 meters.
CRS gigabit port connected to mikrotik gigabit PoE adapter a 3 meter cat 6 ftp cable connected from PoE adapter to SEXTANT G, still no we got gigabit 100Mbit/s fdx.
Tried another RB600 with gigabit port that replaces SEXTANT G, still no gigabit we got 100Mbit/s fdx.
CRS connected to RB600 with external power and we got gigabit.
Then tried 3 other SEXTANT G and another PoE adapter that follows, same result no gigabit, also testing another CRS and Cisco 2960 gigabit ports same result no gigabit. We tried also several different cat6 and cat5e tp cables, all 3 meters.
No matter how hard we tried, no gigabit is seen anywhere using those gigabit poe adapters.
And yes, RoS6.15 and latest firmware.
Now I sit with several customers 100Mbit/s fdx, and we need that gigabit…

I really know that this is the right one (cable), but did you ever tried out another one to
be sure that not the cable is the guilty? Only for testing proposition I mean.
Something like RB600 and the a ordinary CAT.5e cable in combination with the PoE injector.
I use cat 5e ftp but on other side are one RB1100AHx2, i never check 1G with other hw…
My Sextant G have inside one 911G-5HPnD!!! not one 7xx!!!
I have one SXT-G linked on one RB1100 (no AH, no x2) for video surveillance, iot link @ 1000M
on other side another SXT-G linked to one RB750G at 1000M…
I ordered a couple of new SEXTANT G today, hope they arrive soon.
I will setup a complete lab test here and try to find out what is wrong and come back with the results.
2009 we were told that this is gigabit poe injector (at that time some black ones, and the white half moons), it soon turned out they were not, we did try many variants and finally have to give it up.
I notice in some tower RB600 adversiting all ways from 10M Half up to 1000M ful link partner is advertising 10M half up too 100M full, on other end of RB600 is CCR1016. In old days we had RB450G it was same story then, max speed 100Mbit/s full duplex. Forcing 1000M fdx lead to no connection at all, always.
Removing PoE adapters and connect powering the device(s) via the jack, immediate result in 1Gbit/s fdx.
I got the new gears from my vendor and did the following tests:
Switch CRS <—injector-cable—> Injector <------------cable-X--------------> SEXTANT G
Injector that follows SEXTANT G + Unshilded Cat5E cable to Sextant => 1Gigabit was achieved.
Injector that follows SEXTANT G + FTP Cat6 cable to Sextant => 1Gigabit was achieved.
The black injector with two leds Unshilded Cat5E cable to Sextant => 100Mbit was achieved.
The black injector with no leds shilded FTP Cat6 cable to Sextant => 100Mbit was achieved.
The white injector Unshilded Cat5E cable to Sextant => 100Mbit was achieved.
The white injector with no leds shilded FTP Cat6 cable to Sextant => 100Mbit was achieved.
I did test several other white gigabit injectors that had followed the other SEXTANT G, 2/3 of them fully failed no link at all, the rest of them gave 100Mbit/s or portflapping using both cables above.
So it was clearly some problem with the quality of power injectors. I will have to order a bounch of new injectors for all customers and for the base stations find some other PoE solution.
We just purchased 10 poe-injectors, and because of this thread I forced to test it by myself.
I have just connected my PC to RB951G over white-1-green-led-mikrotik-gigabit-poe-injector and run btest.
And what the result? Solid 530Mbps send/530Mbit recieve with 100% RB CPU load!
