Hello everybody,

I have a strange question for you: How can I pronounce Mikrotik:

  • Mìkrotik
  • Mikròtik

first one. correct is to read it as “meecroteek”

this comes from the Latvian language (MikroTik is from Latvia, and in Latvia we have our own unique language). The name comes from “Mikrotīkls” which means “Small network”. It was shortened for easier spelling internationally.

Damn, the Aussies were almost right with their Mick-rot-ick

One less thing to make fun of them for.

Mick-rot-ick is fine, maybe the “ee” is not as long as I wrote.
