Mikrotik RB1100AHx2 broken (solid lights on 6-10 ports)

Hi everyone,

As written in the subject, I have solid lights on ports 6-10. Out of total 13 ports I can connect to the router only via ports 12 and 13. In the log I can see that ports 12 and 13 are up so that tells me that all the other ports are dead?

We had a thunderstorm and it appears that the lightning struck has damaged my RB1100AHx2 router?
What’s weird is that we have a UPS and surge protection so I’m not sure how this happened only with the RB1100AHx2. All other devices (3 other MT routers, switches, many servers, etc.) are OK so I’m not sure if this caused the the lightning struck or the router just broke by itself?

I’ve reinstalled the RouterOS on the device using Netinstall, upgraded the firmware but no change.

I’ve opened the router to see if there is any damage caused by the lightning (burned capacitors or something) but the router looks fine, no damages at all!

Did anyone had a similar problem with the RB1100AHx2 or some other router and is there any way I can fix this?

Any help is welcome, especially since this is an expensive router so fixing it would be a great thing.

Thanks in advance!

Help? Anybody? Is there any chance I can revive the router’s ports again?

Is there any hint from anybody regarding this thread?
Is there anyone from Mikrotik (Normis?) that had similar experience or can tell me what could be the cause so I can try to repair it?

Thanks,

Have you tried a netinstall?™

@marrold

Yes, I’ve tried Netinstall but no change. I wrote this in the 1st post. Thanks the the reply anyway.
