I would like guidance on how to segregate my church network. I have Virgin Media with 5 Static IP’s and would like to achieve the below:
1 Staff Network
1 Guest Network
1 IOT Network
I have a RB4011 & Ubiquiti UniFi 48 Port 500W PoE Gigabit Network Switch US-48-500W & 1no Ubiquiti UniFi 16 Port PoE Gigabit Network Switch US-16-150W.
I am not sure how to achieve this on the Mikrotik with the Unifi, any steer in the right direction would be great.
Regards
JMC
You could theoretically segregate the Network physically
This methode is sometimes used in very very Small Networks and/or if you don`t want to use VLAN
Config-Exemple :
Use the RB4011 SFP+ & UniFi 48 Port-Switch for Staff Network
Use the RB4011 ether 1-5 & UniFi 16 Port-Switch for Guest Network
Use the RB4011 ether 6-10 for IOT-Network
But most likely VLAN`s should be used to segregate the Network.
All Interfaces of the Unifi-Switches can be used for a Specific VLAN (Access-Port)
or multiple VLAN (Hybrid-Port)
Config-Exemple :
Use the RB4011 SFP+ for LAN
VLAN 100 for the Staff Network
VLAN 200 for the Guest Network
VLAN 300 for the IOT Network
