MikroTik RB750Gr3 + UniFi APs – Uneven Bandwidth, Intermittent Drops

Equipment:

  • Router: MikroTik RB750Gr3 (hEX) running RouterOS 6.48.6

  • APs: 5x UniFi (AC and U6 models)

  • Uplink: Symmetric dedicated connection

  • Topology: Standard setup: Internet → MikroTik → Switches → UniFi APs

Symptoms:

  • Uneven bandwidth distribution among users

  • Speed fluctuates drastically (1 Mbps to 300 Mbps)

  • Intermittent connection drops

  • MikroTik ports show “RS” (Router/Slave) status

Question:

  1. What is the correct procedure to enable hardware offloading on the RB750Gr3 in this topology?

  2. Is there a specific configuration required for integration with UniFi APs?

  3. Could this issue be related to UniFi configuration rather than MikroTik?

Just an observation: the topic looks like a copy&paste of someones ticket system. It's not the only structured alike post last time.

When your "problems" appear, did you check CPU load of your device (tool / profile / all )?
Is one or both cores at max ?

1- we need proper config export in order to be able to make any comment.
2- you may want to consider upgrading to latest version for ROS6 if you want to stay on that chain.
3- However, you may also consider to move to ROS7 since some switch chip features (e.g. HW offloading of VLAN) will then be possible (but we don't know if you can benefit from it since you didn't tell more context nor shared config).
FWIW Hex RB750gr3 runs ROS7 just fine and HW offloading of VLANs works at wire speed.
