Hi all,
this is my first post, hope I’m doing this right.
I have a Mikrotik RB751u-2hnd (RouterOs 5.21) with a few devices connected via wifi.
-4 Axis cameras (M1031W)
-2 HP notebooks
-2 HP AIO PCs
-Couple Samsung cellphones running Android
Of all those devices, only the cameras are having disconnection issues with the Mikrotik.
Every now and then the cameras simply disconnect from wifi, in some cases they reconnect and in others have to be restarted (power unplugged and replug)
The cameras are nearer to the mikrotik than for example the notebooks (and notebooks show almost always all bars of wifi signal strength) and pretty much never have wifi disconnection issues.
If the cameras are connected to the Mikrotik via ethernet no connection issues appear.
Connecting the cameras to a basic, cheap Trendnet Access point via wifi , the cameras show no connection issue either.
If the Trendnet access point is powered off the camera loses connection as expected and when the trendnet is back on the camera connects back to the wifi just fine.
So looks like the issue has to be in the Mikrotik somewhere.
Wifi in the Mikrotik is configured as b/g/n with frecuency set to 2437Mhz, security is WPA1 / 2 / PSK / TKIP.
I am in Argentina
Should I change some configuration in the Wireless section or somewhere else in the Mikrotik to make the wifi connection to the Axis cameras more stable?
Many thanks for the help
Alex
