Hi, I got my hands on a RB951Ui-2HnD, given from my boss to bring it back from death. It was put aside , as no one knew to configure Mikrotik routers.

I did reset it about 15 times with the correct procedure , with the reset button and with circuiting the boards contacts for reset.
I believe it did reset because there are no ip on all interfaces, except if i put lan1 to dhcp server, it gets a leased address of the network. No AP.
I can’t login with admin and blank password with winbox, telnet or web(refused) (all interfaces, with MAC or leased ip on Eth0.)
I even tried some dude’s hint that it might be the SN from back to start as password, no luck.
Tried Net-install but cant get the router show up in the box. I even made a static dchp to give router 192.168.88.1, but it didnt show it in netinstall box either.
Any Ideas?
Should i go to older version winbox? Does it make sense? I have the latest.
The fact you can connect but not get in, does mean some previous account/passwd is being applied.
Best to clean it completely then !
Did you already try following netinstall tips:
- disable ALL interfaces on your machine except the ethernet connection being used
- put a dumb switch in between your PC and device
- use Linux for netinstall (works for me each and every time)
