Hello. I just purchased a Mikrotik RBSXTG-5HPacD and am trying to test it in a mode where it connects to my home wi-fi network. Wi-fi router is TP-Link N450. I checked the specs and it’s 2.4 Ghz. I check under “Wireless” in the setting of the Mikrotik and under “Band” only 5Ghz types are available. Under “Wireless” I hit scanner and in the list of the available wi-fi networks mine isn’t listed. And all networks that it finds are ranging from 5180 to 5805 channels. Question: is it possible to connect my Mikrotik to my home 2.4 Ghz wifi? Thanks!

Why are you so surprised, that 5 GHz radio doesn’t “talk” to 2.4 GHz radio??? 5 GHz radio works with other 5 GHz radios, and 2.4 GHz with 2.4 GHz.
