My MikroTik router is not detecting my Ooredoo SIM card. It shows as if no SIM card is inserted at all.
I have restarted the router multiple times, but it still does not recognize the SIM. I am attaching a photo of how I inserted the SIM card into the slot to verify if it is in the correct direction.
Is there a specific configuration required for Ooredoo Tunisia, or is the SIM incorrectly inserted?
Not that the icon is actually very easy to understand.
Can we try another way?
Contacts should be on the upper or lower side?
The dent should be towards the inside or outside of the device?
And on the right or on the left?
It seems to me like it should be upper/inside/right, i.e. second photo is correct, right?
wtf, why this long discussion? sim card slots are like microsd slots: you can't put the card wrong way. Unless you apply extra force......these sim slots on Mikrotik are push to release. So the card does not lock in when put the wrong way.
Unless nano-to-micro SIM adapter is used, then extra force is needed because these slots are not designed for adapter tickness. It is possible to insert SIM with adapter, but push to eject is not working because it is too thick on edges.
IDK, maybe it is just Chateau slot issue then, on both I have - LTE12 and 5G R17 ax same issue with different adapters. Maybe it is even better like that - I don't need to worry for losing SIM contact when moving device
Thanks for the advice, everyone! To clarify, the exact issue is that I keep getting a 'SIM card not detected' error on my LAMp 5G R16 (running the latest update version).
The Issue: I physically have to re-insert the SIM card 3 to 4 times and manually reboot the device multiple times before the modem finally detects it. [1]
The Side Effects: When this detection failure happens, my local connection goes haywire. Winbox works but the app doesn't, or vice versa, alternating randomly until the SIM is finally stable.
Is this a known physical slot issue with this model, or a software bug in the latest firmware? Should I return it as a faulty unit (RMA), or is there a specific troubleshooting trick to fix this?
