I hope someone can assist. I’m a total newbie to Mikrotik But have some networking experience.
I want to setup Mikrotik router(Mik1) with VLANS and then trunk port it the VLANS to another Mikrotik Device (Mik2) but (Mik2) wont be doing any routing just using it as a switch basically?
DHCP server has been setup on the below and tagged on the Bridge
VLAN 10: 192.168.10.1
VLAN 20: 192.168.20.1
VLAN 30: 192.168.30.1
I can set up mik1 with VLANS access ports and trunk ports using the bridge and bridge filtering. PC’s connected on eth 3,4,5 all get there relevant IP address as per VLAN ID’s.
Ether 2 would be my trunk port connected to the Mik2 on Ether 2 as well.
My issue setting up Mik2 to accept the VLANS. I made a bridge included ether 2 in and 3,4,5 put a PVID on 3,4,5 but still the PC’s don’t find dhcp sever.
I Have read the VLAN article and forums/ YouTube videos, still struggling.
All the above is done in GNS3 with CHR before i execute on physical devices.
