I’ve been out of Mikrotik news for a while, and am looking for a replacement for my old and trustworthy 941-2nD limited to 100 Mbps. Get new fiber in the area with a speed 1-2 Gbps, but after searching for a while, couldn’t find any compact-size Mikrotik router with at least 2x 2.5 Gbps. Do they have a plan to release that kind of ethernet router?

That cannot route 2Gbps!!!
I think the only “compact” Mikrotik router that supports multi-gig routing, is CCR2004-16G-2S+PC. The price is not that compact (but that’s subjective depending on magnitude of one’s cash flow).
RB5009? It’s not compact as in ‘you can stick it in your pocket’, but at 1/4 rack unit it’s pretty small, and it has an SFP+ and a 2.5G port and the horsepower to fill the latter.
