I have Mikrotik Routerboard 1100AHX2 that the Eth ports are not working. The router was working fine before I off my inverter while my Electrical engineer were servicing our generator. I swicthed on the inverter and eth 1- eth 13 are not working anymore.
Summary: I plug network cable on the Eth 1 no indicator light but there is indicator light blinking at the other end of the cable connected to my Cyberoam. I have try to reset the router but I am unable to connect with winbox or netintall.
Anyone with similar issue or whoever the has solution should please help.
I have tried all your suggestions but still unable to connect with either winbox or netinstall. I have also tried button reset and onboard reset but yet unable to connect.
Please help as my entire network is down due to no backup router.
Am beginning to believe that Mikrotik Routerboard does not last. The initial one I have start giving problem after 3years, the memory can’t stored configuration, I dumped it and buy RB1100AHX2 in 2014 and now is not working fine and am unable to connect to the interface with either winbox or netinstall.
Have you tried powering it through the POE-in (Ether13)? If it works I’d open it and replace the internal PSU:
I really don’t understand people punishing Mikrotik or any kind of sensitive or WISP network equipment with inverters, moreso, when it isn’t needed folks, all our equipment is already DC powered! will also get higher runtimes as you won’t waste energy by going to DC to AC and back to DC.
Regarding the 1100AHx2 you can power it with any 10-28VDC power supply, either by passive poe using ether13, or by opening and wiring it directly to the DC-in connector.
This is/was by definition the workhorse router in mikrotik lineup, a very tough board made to last and provide service 24/7, I have never had one fail on me, and most colleagues I know still trust it with their eyes closed.
