I have IDE hard disk with Mikrotik routerOS v4.16. I want to know if if RouterOS work with dual , quad core possessor and i3,i5 and i7 processor.
Does RouterOS benifits from these processors (for example, is dual core 2.0 GHz faster than 3.0 GHz Pentium 4 in routerOS ?)
yes, in RouterOS v5 we have multicore support and you will get more speed with these processors.
what about v4? v5 is beta now
it’s in last release candidate stage, it will be released soo. v4 has old kernel

Pentium4 is a very old CPU. The new i7 will still be better in v4
