That’s a generic networking question, not MikroTik specific
http://www.webopedia.com/DidYouKnow/Hardware_Software/router_switch_hub.asp
I know the Difference between routers and switches in Networking ,
but want to know that in MikroTik
They are the same differences ![]()
What are you asking specifically?
I’m working for ISP , we already have Cisco , extreme and other routers and switches
we are planning to make a backup infrastructure consists of MikroTik routers and switches , So I’m searching about it’s features to decide which devices can help us .
where can I explore Networking features for MikroTik devices ?!
Thanks for Help
you can see mikrotik switch features in the last page of this PDF:

I think there is a confusion generated by the fact that the CRS series has actually an built in router beneath the switch and that there are routers which include some versatile switch chips (e.g. the RB-2011).
So Mikrotik has routers, switches, and hybrid devices (the CRS series), including a high performance L3 switch combined with a low performance router acting also as configuration front end for the switch, but included in their “switch” category.
Why are the ACLs only on the 226 series?
