Mikrotik Software on Cisco Router/Dell Pweredge

Was looking to see if anyone has ever tried loading Mikrotik onto a Cisco Router or Dell PowerEdge or others?

Thanks

Just use something on the approved hardware list. Why use something not designed for the OS

http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Supported_Hardware is the best place.

Has anyone had good success with the powerrouter series? I have 650 internet clients I am using soekris routers and they just are not cutting it anymore.

We have dropped in over 2000 Hotspot users on one 732 without issues. We just completed a project, ended up having over 10 hops from end to end on the network, all though PowerRouter 732s, ended up at 994 meg fully routed actual throughput. Won the bid over Cisco on that!

If you have any questions, shoot them to sales@mikrotikrouter.com

What??? On a Cisco Router??? :open_mouth:

thought that was kinda funny.

Can someone point me than to the biggest meaniest mikrotik router I can buy (with warranty)

RouterBOARD 1000  also Dennis has some devices

Yep we have 1000s in stock, ready to ship. Thats the biggest baddest RouterBoard. 4 GigE Interfaces. The PowerRouter 732 comes with 7 GigEs and the 2200 can go up to 22 GigEs.

Thanks all ended up buying a 732 with 11 gigE’s 2gb ram 80gb drive. Should keep us going for a little bit…
