Anyone using Mikrotik v2.9.20 as core router? I need to upgrade from v2.8.28 to v29 to support intel gbit pro server adapter, also I’m wondering if the bgp for version v2.9.20 is stable
Need help, trick & tricks to avoid misconfiguration for v2.9.29
BGP stability is not an issue with Mikrotik. The configuration options are the problem! I will tell you, as a user that has been running our edge router since 2.8, and now we are at the point where BGP is necessary for us since we need to find another provider for reliability purposes, we are having one heck of a time getting the MT to support one provider that requires multihop.
As far as stability goes, though, it does seem to be very stable. I am picking up over 182,000 routes from one provider right now, and the system is performing far better with the new routing-test 2.9.20 package than it ever has in the past. It is a little slower to pick up the routes, but it seems that now it adds the routes into the routing table while downloading, where before it seemed to download the routes and then inject them into the routing table afterwards, which seemed to be a very bad idea. I had many days that the router was running at 100% CPU load!
