mikrotik 64 bit did not an urgent or not necessary.
but when you want to install OS windows, linux, etc over mikrotik. it need more and a lot of memory.
an 64 bit for more power n stability
You mean running Windows in metarouter? Good solution for Dude IMHO.
running windows/linux on KVM in mikrotik x86 but need more memory. as you know that mikrotik x86 maximum memory 2gb
and proxy inside mikrotik can not customize very limit

I thought KVM can’t handle ANY sort of Windows running, but just Linux based OSes.
Regardless… x64 would indeed be nice for (Linux) VMs sake, if not for anything else.
This would be SO awesome!
Correct me if i’m wrong, but wouldn’t compiling the routeros kernel for PAE be a simple task to support 4GB+ or would that break old x86 hardware? Also, why only 2GB in the current version, isnt the theoretical limit more like 3GB for x86 32-bit?
