Mikrotik Virtualbox OSPF Area issue

Hello all,

I’m currently setting up a gns3 project to practice on mikrotik and cisco routing protocols. The devices installed fairly easily but i ran into one problem. On the mikrotik, the default ospf area that is normally there, backbone, was missing. I tried to manually add it and got the error: “this feature is not available”. Anyone else run into this issue? I’m assuming its license related because i have a level 1 license on these.

I also do use RouterOS in GNS3 with Cisco IOSes for exactly the same purpose as you. I assume it’s an issue with licenses. Looking at the license page http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:License it seems to me that the demo license does not allow normal OSPF operation.
In my setup I use RouterOS in a QUEMU host and I have a license uploadet to the host. It’s the license they give you when you pass any Mikrotik exam.
