I have a wireless tp-link access point TL-WA901ND and mikrotik RB750
TL-WA901ND supports multi-ssid with vlan ids
there is 2 different ssids. it is supposed that users that connects to the first ‘secure’ ssid will obtain ip address automaticly and users who connects to the second ssid ‘hotspot’ will have to login using hotspot.
RB750 is connected to WAN via ether1, and to the wireless access point via ether2
In the TL-WA901ND i have set vlan id 100 for the ‘secure’ ssid and vlan id 600 for the ‘hotspot’ ssid
I have created 2 vlans on ether2, ether-2-vlan100 and ether-2-vlan600, but i can not see any traffic on vlan whether i connect to any ssid, the traffic is on the ether2 interface only.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi there , have you tag the trafic?
Going out your Rb?
this should be no-brainer, since the tp-link ap supports 802.1q…
I know it’s a stupid question, but have you checked “Enable VLAN” on tp-link webinterface?
EXACTLY same problem! ![]()
any ideas, ppl?
I have been sniffing traffic with an 802.1q capable LAN card, and WA901 doesnt set any tag on its traffic.
All Wireless clients connecting to the different SSIDs goes untagged.
Hi,
Is it wan interface of TP-Link working as trunk? And did you set the needed cfg in RB750 in vlans or in ether2 (I mean to create a hotspot using interface=vlan600 and not ether2).
