Mikrotik Windows Driver / App

I have for a while though it would be a good idea for Mikrotik to release a driver for windows or linux that lets you view mikrotik radio extensions, This would I guess only work with supported cards.

It would be great to be able to use some of the features of RouterOS on your PC for network trouble shooting and site surveys, radio names and frequency usage monitor in particular would be very useful, a good replacement for netstumbler.

I wonder if it is possible to run RouterOS on some sort of virtual machine that has direct access to the WLAN card?

Thoughts?

a driver for what? your pc wireless card in windows? no way, there is too many of them

Perhaps not a driver then but an application that has similar functionality to the wireless SCAN and SNIFF features of Winbox /RouterOS that works with the PC’s wireless card to show up MT proprietary extensions.
