Hi, I was wanting some info on using a Mikrotik Wireless Slave.
A friend has given me just the slave of a Mikrotik Wireless. I am wanting to use this to set up a 4g internet connection on my property.
I have a 4g mobile internet device, and i am wanting to be able to use the Mikrotik Wireless Slave router to be able to extend the signal.
My question: Is this possible? as i understand that they come in matched pairs and i only have the Slave. Can i use the Slave only to be able to extend the signal from the 4g Mobile internet device?
Thanks in advance for any tip or advice that might give me an idea if this is possible.

I guess you want to extend the 2.4GHz band of that Mobile device.
Yes you can configure the wireless interface of your Mikrotik Device as Station and then create a slave Interface configured as an Access Point…
You will find a lot of information on how to do that around the forum and in the Wiki.
I’m not aware of any MikroTik hardware that has this restriction. The master/slave mode is entirely in the configuration of the device.
When you just reset it to defaults and reconfigure it you have the option to set it to any mode you like.
