Hello,
Is there anyway I can determine the health of a Compact Flash card that has the RouterOs installed on it?
Is the system resources the only way I can get details about this ???
Thanks,
Sotiris

what do you understand by “health”
?
you can only see the bad blocks and the number of writes. If the flash is 2-3 years old I would think about replacing it, especially if the writes increment a lot on a daily basis. I will try to start a project that shows some graphs from the number of writes per day based on which features are turned on or off. IE; if writing DHCP leases to disk every 5 minutes your daily writes for from 1000 to 5000, etc.
But to answer your question, no, nothing that lets you know when your CF is about to crash and burn. Usually you find out about this once you reboot.
Mikrotik: PLEASE ADD A DISK LOGGING TOPIC that records when disk reads/writes timeout or fail, it is very beneficial to know this. Otherwise you find out when you reboot and its too late.
