I have a wrap board running Mikrotik 2.9.35 with two ethernet interfaces.
ether1 is connected to my ISP as PPPoE client. It receives the IP address and the default route.
ether2 has connected the private LAN.
I use masquerade in the Mikrotik router to enable the computers in the LAN to access the Internet.
The computers in the LAN can browse most sites but can not browse the following sites:
http://www.aol.com
http://www.yahoo.com
http://www.juno.com
However in the Mikrotik router and in the computers I can trace http://www.yahoo.com. But I can not browse it.
The log of the Mikrotik router does not show any anormal.
If I put a computer directly connected as client of PPPoE of my ISP, it can browse these sites without any problem.
Any help will be appreciate.
Sounds like a MTU problem
try this:
/ ip firewall mangle
add chain=forward protocol=tcp tcp-flags=syn action=change-mss new-mss=1440 comment=“MSS FIX” disabled=no
That fixed the problem.
Do you know where I can find more information about that kind of problem ?
Basically what does it do that command ?
