MIMO Nstreme Dual

Has anyone set a 2 chain Nstreme dual system using R52nM cards?
I know that I would need 2 dual pole antennas at each end.

why not just implement the dual chain N card with the NV2.
work it with the AH model then you need not the Nstreme dual anymore…

nstreme dual means 2 N links, double the speed of one N link. He asked for something else than your answer.

If you look for my posts you can see 2 links in bonding and up to 330mbps in udp and 260mbps TCP. In Nstreme dual you can’t have more than 100mbps upload + 100mbps download so it’s slower than bonding.

Thanks InoX
I didnt know that there was a limitation in dual Nstreme. I’ll need to do some studying on the bonding stuff.
I have been away from mikrotik stuff for awhile 3.30 was where I left off. Got suckered into ubnt stuff dropping that and coming back to MT.

ya, you are right, my careless and didn’t see that deep… :sunglasses:

Ok done a little more digging.
So it looks like nstreme dual is reaching its EOL.
NV2 is now the hot item for ptmp. If I understand this correctly I should run nv2 on a 2 chain N system to get the max speed MIMO has to offer? Is Nv2 better to use in a PTP setup than dual nstreme at this time?
I have read that NV2 is still twitchy. So which ROS version is best suited for PTP?
I’ll look at bonding later, dont want to complicate things to soon.

hi…
i have setup 3 link (2KM, 1KM, 8KM) with the lanbowan dual polarity parabolic antenna with the F52N-Pro.
and RouterOS is the V5.9.

as UDP test i put 95M tx and 95M rx, i can get very good ping time and it can achieve it.
but one thing is, you have to put it in more clean environment.

oh… it work with RB411AH both end.

thanks.

We have converted 10 or more nstreme dual links to NV2 / 802.11n
Our standard AP & Link equipment is RB800 with R52Hn’s
RouterOS 5.11 is working great for us

Slightly OT. I have just started setting up a link with NV2. It is 8km. Both ends UBNT 30 db dishes. The problem is I see very bad latency and jitter when the link is idle or close to idle. Is this normal?

With NV2 I get 300/300 100%/100% ccq. Even with some minor traffic latency is still very bad and jittery. However the throughput is incredible!

This is only with 2x2 MIMO mode. Running single chain it seems fine.

Oh I am running r52hn cards and rb411ah on one and and rb411u (non AH) on the other end. Could that affect anything not running the faster CPU on one end?

Turn your power down (both sides, small increments, down to -70) and test to see if it helps.
