Hello,
Can somebody suggest me a mini PC that can support PPPOE 10G at full speed?
I Need 2x 10g ports and some 1gbit ports
Closest I was able to find is this: https://www.cnx-software.com/2022/12/08/gowin-r86s-mini-pc-10gbe-2-5gbe-networking/
It have 3×2.5Gig ports and 2×10Gig sfp ports but for supporting PPPoE at full speed you will have to wait somebody more knowledgeable.
Or this: https://www.amazon.com/MOGINSOK-Firewall-Appliance-4xIntel-1xConsole/dp/B0C7L174KM
Core i7 should be capable of doing that…
What do you think about https://mikrotik.com/product/crs310_8g_2s_in ?Does it support full speed pppoe 10g ?
I checked also https://mikrotik.com/product/ccr2004_16g_2s_pc
First one is more of a switch instead of the router so i don’t think so…
For the second one I don’t know, you will have to wait for someone more knowledgeable.
Some Supermicro board with 2x10G ports.
You’ll want a CPU with higher clock rate or network card with hardware acceleration. 10Gbps line speed does not leave a lot of CPU cycles do useful things with packets.
PPPOE is CPU intensive task, if you get rid of the PPPOE you have plenty options.
Mikrotik doesn’t have hardware like you requested, look the CISCO ASR line ( example: CISCO ASR9901 ), another option - you can buy cheaper used cisco on ebay (example: CISCO ASR1004 or CISCO ASR1006 ) that can do it.
Are you looking for PC, router, switch or PCI-e interface card? Original post is not clear
as of today, none of the Mikrotik hardware devices are capable of doing 10Gbit/s PPPoE.
There is SUP-128496 with the request if this would be possible to have PPP(oE) hardware accelerated to reach 10Gbit/s
Not quite 10Gbps, since I think upstream doesn’t support it, but I can hit ~6Gbps on a HP Microserver Gen 10 Plus, with Intel DA710-X2 add-on card for the SFP+ ports.
