Minimum size of MicroSD card on hEX for the Dude?

Hi guys,

I see that the max card size is 128GB, but what is the minimum required size for a card please? Trying to see whether I need to order one or if one of the 16GB cards I have is plenty.

Thanks for the assist!

I dont see why there should be a minimum size…

You mind elaborating a little on why there shouldn’t be a minimum size? The Dude is going to need to store logs, config?, etc. on this card. Therefore, a minimum size would always be an item to consider. i.e would 8 or 16GB fit everything it needs to store? Is it based on the number of days worth of logs you wish to store? How do you figure out how much space the program needs? If I want to store 30 days worth of logs, is 8GB acceptable?

How much space is used up on your SD card (assuming you have it configured)?

My gut tells me that it’s not even going to reach 1GB, but I want to be sure.

It depends on how many devices you would like to monitor.
For example, I have 8 GB card in my hEX S at home and it is being reported as 7.5 GiB size and 4.7 Gib free. It monitors itself, switch, AP and a router in remote location, including all link speeds and connectivity to 6 services ind the internet. It keeps all the logs forever and data for graphs as described in attached picture (almost forever).

So go ahead and just use your 16 GB card, it should last for a while

Thanks for this. Looks like the 16GB card will work just fine for my purposes then:smiling_face_with_sunglasses::+1:
