Seeing as how so few Routerboards have a USB port is there any chance a MiniPCI to USB adapter will be supported? A quick web search comes up with this unit. I’m sure there are more…
it requires 5V from the mini-pci, Routerboards doesn’t supply the 5V to the mini-pci as it is an option feature. Better to use some RouterBoard which supports USB connection.
Yes, I noticed that, but figured a voltage convertor or secondary power supply could provide the 5V to the adapter. Or is the 5V really necessary to be able to communicate with a USB device (APC UPS battery backup) that doesn’t need the 5V to power up?
We’d really like to see a multi-Ethernet Interface RouterBoard with a USB port. As of now there is only a three Ethernet port RouterBoard with USB support. The RB800, RB1100 or RB493AH would be great boards to offer a USB port!
