Minirouter as RS-232 to Ethernet redisrector or gateway

Hello!

Please tell me,

  1. Can a minirouter (based on routerboard.com hardware with RS-232 interface) acts as RFC 2217-compliant serial port (RS-232) redirector? I want to connect via ethernet TCP-port to an ISDN modem (with RS-232 interface, but not Ethernet) and send AT-commands (for example).

  2. Can a minirouter acts as Dial-up Dial-On-Demand gateway on PPP-client mode?
For example, I want a minirouter connects to Internet establishing Dial-up PPP CHAP/PAP/MS-CHAPv2 session via ISDN modem with RS-232 port and share this connection to any its ethernet workstations.

Thanks.

Yes, to both.

For 1 look under “/port remote-access”.
For 2 create a ppp-client interface.
