Minor issue with login interface and a pwd manager

The way the login works by generating a small pop-up window is not letting my in-browser password manager plugin feed the credentials to the session, having to input them manually.

I wonder if anyone came across this and found a workaround, it is of course not a huge issue, but still annoying.

What you are talking about?
What pop-up login?

it may of course be OS+Browser related but this is in Windows on Firefox and checking a bit more, also on Chrome and Edge, all in W10.

All three browsers generate the same popup upon logging in in SwOS.

thanks for clarification

I’m not using a password manager plug-in, just standard Chrome. And username/password is filled in automatically (default settings). Just have to click login.

That is probably because you set Chrome to remember the passwords and perhaps it is just better at filling them in than a password manager plugin.

I use Firefox as my preferred browser on this Windows 10 computer as well. I have Firefox set to remember the password for my MT switches, and like bpwl, I connect to the switch IP and the login window pops up already filled in, and I just hit enter and I’m in. Not using any plugin - just standard Firefox.

Thing is I use that pwd manager plugin for all my pwds on all devices and while I don’t distrust Firefox in particular to keep passwords with FF Lockwise i have yet to move to that solution, if ever…

I use a real password manager and not a Firefox plugin. I only have a small number of things that have the password stored in FireFox, and those do not sync across devices. I do have my MT switches password stored so I only have to press enter, but for most stuff, I copy from the PWM and paste in to where ever I am logging into.

I better clarify that I am also using a “real” password manager - as far as I know, I pay for it and it is a separate application - that has plugins for most browsers in order to use it, but I am not sure what you are referring to, don’t your definition of “real” password managers allow for browser integration?

I thought you were meant you were using some addon password manager in FireFox - hence my reference to a “real” password manager. My confusion - sorry
Actually the PWM that I use recently added a plugin for Firefox, but I have no real interest in using it.

Its fine, the market is getting crowded…

Have the same issue with standard chrome pwd manager. but with me somethimes it fills in user/pwd automatically and sometimes (very often) not. it is annoying if you have to access 30 switches and fill in each credential each time.
