Mirkotik OS and Minipc-e 3g Cards

Dear Mirkotik,

i have huge problem to find working 3g minipci-e cards working with your router os, new cards are not supported, i tested about 10 different old 3g module and only 2 works fine, but are 7.2 mbit module and they work at max 3mbit. (cause are old like Sierra U870)(the only one works fine)

Can you add support (drivers that work fine) for new 3g/lte module? the future is it! (to have portable hotspot)

Thank you

Leo

Send a supout.rif file from the device with this card to support. We will see if we can support it.

I hope this is the correct file…the card connect perfectly at first attemp (at 1st boot) then after 25 / 40 min begin loose packet (ping) the every 5 / 10 continue loose more packet end after 2 hours it loose definitly the connection (untile you poweroff / on the board again)

The card is the Sierra MC8700 (21mbit), you can reach also 11mbit/s, is was fantastic but is impossibile to use if you have to poweroff/on every 2 hours.

Please help!

Tried with 4.x, 5.x and 6.x beta2

Thank you
(sorry for english)

Any good news?

UP please

please make one support output file when it is working fine with 3g, then make another support file when the modem connection stops working.
Also tell us which 3g/lte modems isn’t supported by RouterOS, maybe we could add support for it.

Hello,

it’s me again.

3G MODULE: Sierra MC8700 (very good performance until works)

I attached 3 file:

File “OK.RIF”: just started the router, 3g module works fine
File “ERROR.RIF”: after some minute it loose connection for some seconds then gone up again
File “DOWN.RIF”: after about 45min it loose connection permanently, the ONLY way to have 3g connection again is poweroff/on again the mainboard (411uahr)

Your support is highly appreciated cause i have to make N° 850 3g hotspot and i wanna use Mikrotik.

I had a weird 3G modem issue with latest ROS releases (http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/the-usb2-port-channel-count-is-changing/54805/1). Maybe you are having similar/related things and should test with some older ROS versions instead.

I tested all ROS version from 4.x to 6.x beta, it’s probably a driver problem or a power problem

Hi again,

had someone time to give me the support for this topic?
I know you all are busy but i don’t have alternatives…

Thanks

Leo
