Long story short I purchased a sfp and the information says it has DDM. However, in my Mikrotik the DDM information is blank. I searched and came across someone else on a different Mikrotik product saying the DDM information disappeared after an RouterOS upgrade. The problem is I just purchased this and upgraded to 6.20 and now 6.22 and it never has showed DDM information so I don’t know if it’s just not showing it --OR-- the sfp doesn’t contain DDM. Anyone know how to determine the sfp module contains DDM or throw me a bone here? I Googled and have hit a dead end.
I had a situation when my crs-125, after initially showing the DDM info.
This happened after pulling out the SFP and plugging it back in.
A simple reboot didn’t help much, but a shutdown, physical power cut (count to 10) and again power on solved the issue.
Maybe it is worth a try…
I just unplugged the unit, unplugged the fiber, took out and inserted back in the SFP and power back up with the same results. Still no showing DDM information.
Is there any command-line-fu to get it to show if the SFP has a DDM chip or capability? I have till the 30th to get a refund…
Well, I posted this 24 hours ago and it hasn’t been posted so must have gone off into the great digital beyond so I’ll write it again.
Thanks for the replies!!
My unit seems to support DDM information:
Product code RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN
SFP DDMI Yes
I tried unplugging the unit, taking out and reinstalling the SFP module and plugging it back in with the same results.
Only thing that comes to mind is using some command-line-fu to find out if the module has a DDM chip (or whatever it’s called) installed in it. Anyone know if there’s a command to type to get that information?
