Missing default config after reset

Hi all,

I’ve been using a RB3011UiAS-RM for a few years now. Over time I did numerous resets using the physical button, to reconfigure or recover from mistakes, no problem.

A week ago I did a reset using the button in the web interface, and selected “delete old config” (or something like that), which seemed to be a stupid mistake. What happens now is that the default firewall rules are not there. I tried resetting again (using the physical button), and using netinstall (with and without “Apply default config” ticked). It makes no difference, the default firewall rules are not there. Also tried to recover from a backup file, which also results in an empty ruleset. I’m certainly no stranger to iptables so I can make a sane firewall set, but my fear is that maybe there are more (important) default settings missing, and I’d like the default firewall rules to be there after reset.

Is somebody familiar with this problem, and have some idea how to fix this?

The default config was broken in the latest releases.

Thanks. I thought it was something stupid I did. I’m going to try 6.43.4 using netinstall. Is there any way to download an older version than listed on the download page? And then upgrade from that one.

I have the default config back!

I used netinstall 6.42.9 (the version that I previously installed) to install routeros 6.43.4, and after reboot all was well again. Did not try to downgrade to 6.42, think I stay at stable.

Thanks.
