Recently purchased my first Mikrotik license. I decided to go for the level 6 license as it should mean I dont lose out anywhere. I’m planning on creating a wireless mesh, having people connectiong to different boxes as hotspots, with all the boxes talking to one main box [the lvl 6 one] for the interent connection.
The only problem is i dont know what license level i need for the other boxes - i would have hoped the lvl 4 license would do it, as i can’t really afford anything higher, but could anyone clarify this for me?
Cheers,

the only thing that is different between L5 and L6 is the maximum number of active tunnel interfaces and hotspot users. you can see exact numbers in the links that the other poster gave you and also here:
Cheers, that’s very useful - just want to clarify a few things - what does it mean by “User manager active sessions” on the pricing page? As only one router [which currently has lvl6] runs the User Manager radius server, is this something i need to worry about - the entrys for this [e.g 10 (v3 50)] are a bit confusing - could you possibly explain what you mean by that?
Also, i know it’s probably an annoying question that you probably get a lot, but do you have any idea when v4 is going to be available? I’m going to place a large order of router boards from a distributer in the UK, and they come with lvl 4 licenses. Is it worth waiting til v4 comes out and ordering them then, or shall i just get them now and buy a new license when v4 comes out?
v4 won’t be available until next year as v3 only just came out.
user manager active sessions means exatly what it says - you can only have 10 (for example) active hotspot clients logged in when using the User Manager for their management.

If you do not plan to use User-Manager on this router, there are no reasons to worry about active sessions.

Probably I do not understand question, but why do you need to wait for v4, there is no any plans for v4 now.
All new routers you will receive will be upgradable to all v3 and v4, why do you need to wait then ?
