Forgive me if this is a really stupid question but i’m completely new to routerboards and routerOS
What would I need hardware wise to handle 40Mbit/s and MLPPP? (2x 20Mbit down 2Mbit up ADSL2+ lines)
Would a routerboard 750 be able to handle it?
I want to use NAT but I can always use my Pfsense box for that (AlIx 2D3), Currently I have the 2 Lines Loadbalanced via Pfsense, however I want to bond them via MLPPP, I can get this arranged at the ISP end but I need something on my end that also supports this and I was thinking of perhaps buying a routerboard to facilitate this?
Until now we use RB450 for ML-PPP with two 16 Megabit ADSL2+ Lines and see no CPU problem at all.
When the Lines are totally stuffed with downloads by a bittorrent client, cpu usage levels around 35%.
Since the RB750 should be very similar in CPU Power, i suppose you won’t be seeing any CPU problems, provided you don’t
add a whole lot of fancy QoS, firewalling and tunneling.
We will switch to RB750 as soon as they are reliably available
i’ve ordered one, shall probably be keeping the pfsense box in the network for the firewalling
hoping to pass the external ips directly to the pfsense box if possible so the only thing the rb will actaully be handling is the mlppp
please excuse any typos I’m on a Train using a mobile to post
