MLPPP over FTTC Issues

hi,

Ive logged a ticket with Mikrotik but this is slight desperation before I get my vitals removed.

Basically I have a RB2011UiAS attached to two FTTC/VDSL modems using MLPPP across them via PPPoE. All is fine and dandy and works really well until one of the FTTC lines decides to drop for whatever reason. If the plug is pulled on one of the modems traffic is still fine so its not an issue with just having one line active. The logs show very little until the whole MLPPP bundle is cleared the remote end, at that time you can see the Mikrotik realises that it can’t see anything at all and re-connects both lines fine. Rebooting the Mikrotik will start it all back ok with both lines operational. I have access to the Cisco LNS at the remote end.

Its like one of the lines drops and the Mikrotik blindly carries on trying to punt traffic across it, it doesn’t attempt to reconnect that line and put it back in the MLPPP bundle. The remote Cisco end knows that only one MLPPP line is active so I can’t see that end being the issue, plus I have Cisco CPE’s that don’t show the same problem.

any work arounds at all that anyone can think of?

thanks

matt
