What do you think about this mod, will it work under routeros(I only want to use 2x 100mbit ports…)
Or is better to mod pci-e slot on motherboard?
I removed back part of pci-express x1 slot and rb44ge now fit inside. In routeros I disabled 2 ports and it seems that everything is working…

I don’t unterstand why more people don’t just file away a little bit of the plastic PCIe socket on the mainboard,
instead of irreparably damaging the card… If you mod the PCIe socket, the x4 card will fit (but work in x1 mode),
but you can still re-use the x4 card somewhere else with full speed and no risk of destroying the card while modding.
